A Kurdish language teacher and civil rights activist was transferred to Urmia Central Prison on Tuesday to serve a three-month sentence.
Susan Hassanzadeh was initially summoned to the 11th Police Station in Bukan under the pretext of a complaint.
Following the summons, she was arrested by court order and subsequently transferred to prison.
A prominent civil rights activist in Bukan, Hassanzadeh has previously faced repression for her work on Kurdish language issues and cultural activism.
Her arrest and transfer to prison have raised concerns among civil rights and human rights activists.
